The meta for the Azurite Sea Set Championships has been pretty much set in stone over the last several weeks. If you're looking to play something new but still competitive, these off-meta decks with Top 8 finishes might inspire you.
Though none of the decks below are completely brand new, some feature innovations and interesting card choices that have proven effective.
Robin Burn
by Josh Johnson - 1st place at Azurite Sea Set Championship - J&B Books
Rather than taking a more controlling approach like most Amethyst Ruby decks, the Robin Burn version just goes for a mad dash to the finish line. 005-118-robin-hood-sharpshooter and 006-124-maui-half-shark let you take full advantage of lore gain cards like 005-062-gathering-knowledge-and-wisdom and 004-128-a-pirates-life. The deck packs lots of card draw and cheap early pressure to keep up the tempo.
Locations

003-176-john-silver-greedy-treasure-seeker with several locations in play can be an unstoppable win condition. 005-195-pete-games-referee and a bunch of dwarf knights to go into the mines can keep the opponent at bay. One of the most interesting innovations in this version is 006-056-yzma-conniving-chemist, which can rapidly refill your hand and get more locations on the board.
Ruby Steel Aggro

Pairing Steel with Ruby gives you high strength characters to consistently get a narrow advantage with 004-106-flynn-rider-frenemy. 006-103-mickey-mouse-pirate-captain lets your big pirates survive skirmishes. 006-117-moana-self-taught-sailor and 003-184-mr-smee-bumbling-mate likes having him around, too.
Amber Emerald Discard

These two inks have the best discard cards available. 001-031-you-have-forgotten-me and 001-098-sudden-chill reduce their hand size while 003-028-the-bare-necessities and 003-090-ursula-deceiver get rid of actions you don’t like. The color mix also has a crushing one-sided board wipe with 003-007-kida-protector-of-atlantis and 004-095-under-the-sea.
Amber Ruby Aggro Control

Cheap damaged characters like 002-116-mother-gothel-withered-and-wicked and 004-103-beast-wounded love the care and attention of 004-013-julieta-madrigal-excellent-cook and 001-018-rapunzel-gifted-with-healing. High strength challengers add to the deck’s aggressive stance of dealing with enemy characters, particularly with shifters 004-114-mulan-elite-archer and 002-026-the-queen-commanding-presence.
Alice Aggro

Combining ward and bodyguard characters can make for an annoying board to deal with for many opponents. Add in 006-016-tiana-restaurant-owner and 001-018-rapunzel-gifted-with-healing, and you increase the chance they make a mistake in challenging your aggressive characters.
Jafar Wheel

It’s ironic that 003-208-jafar-striking-illusionist sings 001-195-a-whole-new-world the best. Combined with evasive characters like 006-043-tinker-bell-fast-flier and 006-053-genie-wish-fulfilled, this can win games out of nowhere.
Amethyst Steel Midrange
by Scarpak - 2nd place at Azurite Sea Set Championship - Startspeler
Shifting in 003-190-robin-hood-champion-of-sherwood and 001-193-tinker-bell-giant-fairy early is a strong play that can get you ahead on board. Three copies of 005-068-the-library-a-gift-for-belle can maximize the 1-drops you play in the mid to late game. It’s gonna be hard for this deck to run out of gas while trading favorably with the opponent’s characters.
Aggro Quest
by Eismarille - 3rd place at Azurite Sea Set Championship - Womans Cup
Three lore characters like 006-092-olivia-flaversham-the-toymakers-daughter, 003-016-piglet-pooh-pirate-captain, and 006-089-goofy-expert-shipwright are great targets for 006-097-you-came-back. Boosting them further with 006-027-good-job and 006-006-chip-friend-indeed can rapidly speed up your progress, while bodyguards like 001-020-simba-protective-cub and 004-008-donald-duck-musketeer-soldier keep them safe.
Shift and Damage

003-081-morph-space-goo enables this shifty strategy. You shift big characters in early and then sing Steel damage songs for lots of tempo. 002-101-ring-the-bell can take care of high willpower characters. 004-070-diablo-devoted-herald and 005-084-clarabelle-light-on-her-hooves ensure that you can keep up with the opponent’s card draw.
