Each week, I will be taking a look at the cards that rose and fell the most in each of Disney Lorcana’s sets and potentially make some predictions based on chatter I am hearing and results I am seeing throughout the community.
A few rules up front:
- Price changes are based on TCGplayer Market Price, updated every hour on the hour (through an API). Market price is based on the average price of card sales. I am looking at the percentage price change from 7 days ago compared to when the article is written each week. Depending on when you are reading this/article goes live, compared to when that section was written, prices may change slightly.
- I am only looking at cards Rare or above, and with current value of close to $1 or more (or I think can reach that price). Cards under $1 can have wide market swings given easy buyouts, but given the current state of supply of cards it was hard to find cards above this value for comparison given their growth trends. For cards under $1 I only included those I feel have the potential to go higher and were not simply artificially inflated (i.e. they actually see play).
- I am looking at only non-foil pricing. Note that prices on foil staple cards are very high (for example, you can probably get close to $100 for a Beast - Tragic Hero!).
- As there are now five sets for Disney Lorcana, I will be taking a look at the market as a whole, not just cards per set, and only the cards that rose (not fell) and my predictions for the next week.

News of the Week Affecting Lorcana Finance
Overall, the Lorecast was a pretty non-event, with simply a bunch of cards from Azurite Sea being shown and a few dates for Continentals and eventually for Worlds. The lack of details around formats, how many players qualify, additional events, etc. is not something to panic over, it is simply a missed opportunity. That being said, the hype over Big Hero 6 cards and the pirate theme are very high right now, and as we are getting about one new card a day (so it seems) from the new set officially revealed, before any content creators or bigger articles have spoiler dumps even, be on the lookout for older cards that interact with the new ones being revealed!
The market overall for Lorcana was down this week. I am not sure why this is from any macro perspective, but I assume the singles market is just a victim of its own popularity: more sellers drives singles prices down as newer and smaller sellers race to the bottom. The foil market remains very strong, which makes sense. Foils are MUCH rarer than any normal version of a card, so realistically any card that sees play is highly desired in a foil version. Even foil commons can sell for literally 10-20x "normal value," which is interesting because on the higher rarities that delta is not always as great.
As most weeks with little true news, the cards that went up the most this week are the "bulk" of the higher rarities: as they start to sell through the floor is simply raised. I will try and point out cards that went up with actual reasons.

Lorcana's Biggest Risers
Kida - Protector of Atlantis
- Current Market Price: $10.26
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +10.9%
Amber-Emerald Discard with removal based around Under The Sea is still a force in the metagame, especially with the high presence of Ruby-Sapphire in the metagame. Into the Inklands was a great set, Legendary wise, and it is nice to see a fourth one in the double digit range (even when box prices are dropping overall).
Elsa - Spirit of Winter
- Current Market Price: $16.34
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +10%
Elsa has transformed from the end state control tool to an end state tempo tool, mostly existing in Amethyst-Sapphire or Amethyst-Emerald builds. The ability to Shift onto a valuable character in Elsa - The Fifth Spirit gives you an excellent three lore end game, and if the deck can find a way to handle opposing characters like Maui - Hero to All then you will see more copies of her at the top tables!
Piglet - Pooh Pirate Captain
- Current Market Price: $5.89
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +26%
A staple in Amber aggro decks, and even popping up in versions of Amber-Steel, Piglet is a staple in most Amber decks that see competitive play outside of Amber-Emerald discard. With the Pirate theme being huge in the next set, there may be additional ways Piglet sees play, and I look forward to this Captain remaining as a solid staple rare in the metagame.
The real baller version of this card is from the Illumineer's Quest, and you are hard pressed to find playsets of them online for less than $13 a piece.
Cinderella - Stouthearted
- Current Market Price: $2.83
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +9.5%
Another card you can find multiple versions of, and I would highly recommend impressing your locals with the non-foil DLC side event version (hey, if you want to play with the top 32/64 prize version, by all means do so, baller!) or 2024 D23 version. Overall this card is seeing increased play as Amber-Steel decks morph into slightly slower "big character" versions. She is simply a staple in all meta games, so if you do not own her, pick her up, and if you do, get the better versions!
A Whole New World
- Current Market Price: $14.10
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +5.2%
Amber-Steel remains the most played deck, and as long as that remains the case the most powerful (only?) home for this popular Song. Can it find homes in other decks? Does that even matter? Can Emerald-Steel run it with Clarabelle? Time will tell as the meta is still developing, but never discount a card that says "draw seven cards."
Cards to look out for in Lorcana
Mulan - Reflecting
- Current Market Price: $0.29
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +9.1%
I was hoping this Mulan would already find a home along side Hypnotic Deduction, but I think the introduction of Stitch - Alien Buccaneer next set may finally put her on the map. I hope so as this ability is a very powerful ink saver, and she just needs to find her complementary pieces to dominate!
Cinderella - Ballroom Sensation
- Current Market Price: $4.08
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +5.4%
I simply do not believe she is a $4 rare. You can find playsets of her for about 10% higher than this market price pretty consistently, but I believe if someone cracks the code on other Amber-based Princess strategies, this Cinderella has to be the centerpiece.
Ursula - Sea Witch Queen
- Current Market Price: $7.17
- 7 Day Percentage Change: -.9%
She is already seeing increased play in Emerald-Amethyst and I believe she is a key cog in dealing with the meta for that deck. If she takes off in usage, expect the Set Championship alternate art version to really be the one players are looking for, as the art is just fantastic!
Maleficent - Monstrous Dragon
- Current Market Price: $22.95
- 7 Day Percentage Change: +8.6%
Even after the early days of product scarcity, my favorite card in the game once reached the $50 mark! How can it now be selling for half that value when it is seeing a ton of play in decks like Ruby-Sapphire? I think it is simply due to market saturation and eventually this should level off at the $30-40 mark in the long run.
Conclusion
I expect the upcoming DLCs Las Vegas and Birmingham to have a dramatic impact on the Lorcana financial world! This might have been a slow week, but with these events later in the week (I leave Thursday for Vegas, so say Hi if you see me!) I expect an uptick in the market overall as DLCs always bring hype!
