The Shimmering Skies card reveals have been coming fast and furious now. We'll take a quick look at five new Amber cards that were revealed over the past week or so. We don't have the English versions of some of these cards, but you can click on each to get an unofficial translation.
Card Evaluations
Couple of themes jumping out at us here. One is Amber is getting more cards that fit into aggressive strategies. Both Vanellope Von Schweetz - Candy Mechanic and especially the new Daisy Duck - Donald's Date are going to be perfect for aggro decks. Vanellope helps protect your board from challengers with her ability, although I'm not sure the effect is worth what is a relatively weak stat line. Daisy, on the other hand, is just an absolute powerhouse of a 1-drop, questing for 2 lore while boasting 4 Willpower. She is going to be very hard to remove for a lot of decks, usually gaining you 6 lore, at least, when you are on the play. And if you can get a couple of these out early in the game? That's going to close things out real quick.
The other theme we see is healing, which is an Amber staple. Unfortunately, neither Minnie Mouse - Compassionate Friend nor Try Everything have the all-important card draw attached to their healing effects, which makes them less exciting. Try Everything, in particular, seems quite overcosted for what it does. Not in love with either of these cards.
Lastly, we have some card draw in the form of 005-029. In a character-heavy deck this effectively is draw 2 cards for 2 ink. That's a good deal. Yes, you will sometimes hit the other copies of this card but the payoff is probably worth it. And perhaps best of all? The card says you "put" the revealed characters into your hand, so this effect will NOT trigger Diablo - Devoted Herald. A decent potential draw option for Mufasa - Betrayed Leader decks.
