Most big Tournaments are either happening Online or in North America. Last weekend we had a tournament in Europe that’s probably the biggest of them all. Today we will be covering the Top 8 Decks of Tournoi Ludotrotter Aulnay - 290 Players French Tournament.

Top 8 Decks of Tournoi Ludotrotter Aulnay - 290 Players French Tournament
This is by far the most diverse meta we’ve seen in a Top 8 for an IRL tournament. Yes, I agree that we see these decks being played already. But most of the time we will see 2-3 dominant decks. In the Top 8 Decks of Tournoi Ludotrotter Aulnay - 290 Players French Tournament we have way more variations.
Tournoi Ludotrotter Aulnay Top 8
Théotime Buchot - Ruby Amethyst Bounce
While most of the cards are what we usually see in a traditional Ruby Amethyst Bounce Control, Théotime’s Deck is more of a Midrange Control Deck. If you haven’t noticed, the deck doesn’t run Be Prepared. The reason why is because of the heavy Midrange aspect of the deck. The Deck Aims to take the board by using cards like Pinocchio - Talkative Puppet and Merlin - Crab.
Once you’ve won the board, you can then play Win-More Cards like Jim Hawkins - Space Traveler to gain a big advantage. You then quest with your board while gaining lore with 003-067. Since the game plan is heavy tempo, there is no need for a Board Wipe Card. You still have a very strong late game though, due to your 6 Ink Cost Characters that can be bounced back and forth to keep controlling the board.
Van Tuyen - Steel Song Lantern
Van’s Deck is running all the cards that we expect to see in a Steel Song Lantern Deck. There is not much tech on this deck nor do I think that it needs any. We can also no longer call Benja - Guardian of the Dragon Gem a tech since he is pretty much a staple in most Steel Song decks since there are so many items in the current Meta. The Only thing that I noticed is that it only has 2 Rapunzel - Gifted with Healing and 3 Beast - Tragic Hero instead of a 3-4.
Gaël Paris - Steel Emerald Discard
Gaël’s List has a few things that stood out for me. First is, it has 4 copies of Robin Hood - Daydreamer. This can be very scary for the opponent if this deck successfully discards a lot of cards from the opponent’s hands. It is a very healthy body that can quest for 4. Another thing to point out is Rise of the Titans. This is just super solid tech for the current meta honestly.
Lastly is Pete - Bad Guy. If I'm being honest, I’m not 100% sure what the reasoning behind this card is. The only thing I can see is that it can be a great card against Locations and other big bodies and it can also quest for 4 if you manage to play 2 action cards. It is also almost always safe since it has ward.
Geoffrey Aubry - Ruby Amethyst Bounce
Geoffrey’s List is a bit unusual from the traditional Ruby Amethyst Bounce Decks I have seen. The Deck is very heavy on going Aggressive in early games with 4 Pascal - Rapunzel's Companion. It is also important to point out that it is heavy on the Locations Game with 4 Jim Hawkins - Space Traveler, 2 003-067, and 4 Agrabah - Marketplace. The deck is strong enough in early game to mid game as well to be able to support this many Locations in play. Lastly, It doesn’t have any Madam Mim - Snake.
Top 4
Arthur Chambin - Steel Song Lantern
Arthur’s deck is a bit different from most Steel Songs we see. This can be a great element of surprise if it’s your first time playing against it. It has completely cut all the Beast - Tragic Hero from the deck. Instead, it has 2 Simba - Rightful King and 3 Simba - Fighting Prince. These are 2 Big Bodies that have a great Challenge Mechanic that doesn’t get banished from And Then Along Came Zeus or Madame Medusa - The Boss. It also has 4 Rapunzel - Gifted with Healing to complement all the Big Bodies that can challenge to get more draws.
Matthew Perget - Ruby Amethyst Bounce Control
Matthew’s List is a traditional Ruby Amethyst Bounce Control List. There is only really one thing that I noticed from this deck. It is not running any 003-132. It looks more like a Set 2 deck upgraded a bit with different 1-ink cost characters, Madame Medusa - The Boss and 2 003-067.
Top 2
Olivier "Rofellos" Arnold - Emerald Steel Discard
Olivier’s list is the original Discard Deck from Set 2 that has been Upgraded. This is the Bucky with Floodborn Discard Combo Version. The Deck has 20 Floodborn Cards in it. It also only has 8 Uninkable cards that should make the deck feel really smooth to Pilot. One thing that I wanted to point out Improvise. I think this might be the deck where this card shines the most. It is such a nice touch to give that +1 extra strength that replaces itself with another card by drawing 1.
Top 1
Kevin Chiche - Emerald Amethyst Bounce
First of all, Congrats to Kevin for taking the First Place in this Big Tournament. Kevin’s List is very similar to what we’ve been seeing a lot in the Top 4. It was only a matter of time before this list made it to Top 1. This literally looks like those lists from previous big tournaments! With a difference on how many copies of cards it runs. Ever since Emerald Amethyst players switched out the Genie - On the Job for Yzma - Scary Beyond All Reason the deck has started to pop off!
Conclusion
This Top 8 Decks of Tournoi Ludotrotter Aulnay - 290 Players French Tournament by far has the most variety of decks I've seen in the top 8. Even the ones with the same ink colors have so many different techs and variations. This just proves that Disney Lorcana is in a really good spot now with a healthy Meta.
