Card Evaluations

  • Signed Contract is an interesting song hate card. The extra card draw you get may be enough to keep you a bit more even with your opponent in card resources even while they are gaining tempo by singing songs.
  • Flounder - Collector's Companion is not great. He's understatted for a 3-cost character and, even if you have an Ariel in play, paying 2 for him is just okay.
  • Sign The Scroll can work as a payoff for forcing your opponent to discard their whole hand. Since they won't have anything to discard, you just gain 2 lore. Unfortunately, it comes on an expensive 3-cost action that is uninkable. This may make it a bit of a clunky card to include more than 1 or 2-of in your deck.
  • Mystical Rose works great with Beast - Relentless. Giving your Beast 3 lore (or more!) and then getting to quest with it multiple times in a turn is powerful. It takes quite a bit of setup though and we've seen how those sorts of plays tend to work (which is to say, they usually don't).
  • Magic Broom - Aerial Cleaner is another one for the broom deck. It's fine, nothing special. The broom deck is getting other support in this expansion, so maybe it finally becomes viable, but this card isn't enough to move the needle on its own.
  • Hercules - Clumsy Kid is a solid Rush character. He's a color-swapped Rafiki - Mysterious Sage and Rafiki was a very good card back in the day. He has since been eclipsed in Amethyst by Madam Mim - Fox, but if you are running Ruby without Amethyst, I think Hercules could be good enough to make your list.
