Card Evaluations

I love Robin Hood, so these were some fun reveals to see. And some of these cards are looking quite strong! Let's evaluate:

  • Little John as a standalone Bodyguard is just ok. I'd probably rather The Prince - Never Gives Up or even the new Kida - Royal Warrior. But you are probably playing him more as a Shift target for the new Floodborn Little John.
  • Nutsy is the new Donald Duck - Boisterous Fowl. Pack filler.
  • Sir Hiss is another Evasive option for the full Evasive decks. At 1 Willpower, he's going to get pinged down a lot though.
  • Skippy is the new Aladdin - Prince Ali. Also pack filler.
  • Robin Hood is a Steel 1-cost 2/2 that is, just on art alone, a clear upgrade over Goons - Maleficent's Underlings. But he's also a Shift target for...
  • ...this Legendary Robin Hood! A 3/6 coming down on turn 3 is pretty scary. Perhaps most importantly, with that stat line, he is a strong counter to Madam Mim - Fox. His abilities are just ok, but you aren't playing him solely for them. It's mostly about his stats on a shift 3.
  • Another Floodborn in Little John - Resourceful Outlaw. And I actually like his ability a lot. Giving your bodyguard characters Resist +1 and 1 extra lore is very strong and you don't even need to decide between challenging, singing or questing with Little John to do it. As long as he is exerted, you gain the benefit. Can a full Bodyguard deck be feasible with this? Kida - Royal Warrior, The Prince - Never Gives Up, and Hercules - True Hero are all decent Bodyguard characters already in Steel that get that much better with this Little John.
  • Last, but not least, Sherrif of Nottingham is a new ping option for Steel decks. He synergizes well with all the "filtering" cards already available such as Simba - Future King and Cinderella - Knight in Training. And he goes really hard with A Whole New World. Imagine playing Ariel - Spectacular Singer on turn 3, finding A Whole New World, playing Sherriff on turn 4 and then singing World to get a bunch of pings and a fresh hand. He seems very good and may even make cards like Ransack playable.
