Rise of the Floodborn Card Reveals: Floodborn Yzma, Fairy Godmother and more

We are down to the final days of reveal season for Rise of the Floodborn, Disney Lorcana's second set. I expect any day now we will get hit with a flood (heh) of new cards, as the last 40ish cards still need to be revealed. Until then, there remains a steady cadence of new card reveals. Here are five new cards revealed over the past day or so. The first two were revealed by German content creators Dhalucard and Hunter & Friends, while the others were shared by Team Lorcana in the Lorcana HQ Discord.

Card Evaluations

The new Floodborn Yzma seems designed to fit in as top-end to the "wizard duel" deck, which wants to bounce your own characters for extra value. Bouncing Merlin - Goat, for example, with this Yzma will get you 1 lore and draw you 2 cards; bouncing Merlin - Rabbit lets you draw 3 cards! I don't think she will go in any other deck. Yes, she can remove an opponent's character with her ability but giving them two draws is a heavy drawback to doing so.

Fairy Godmother is another card that really only goes in one deck and that's one with a bunch of Cinderellas. At the moment, there are 2 Cinderellas in Amber and 2 in Steel; none in Amethyst. That's not really enough to make her worth running. Maybe in the future, once there are more Cinderellas in the game, she might see play.

This new broom card is great. I love the art and I love that we are getting more brooms for Mickey Mouse - Wayward Sorcerer. I hope we get a new broom in every set. Industrial Broom's ability to give something Resist +1 is decent, better than the Broom from the first set's ability. It comes with a slightly higher cost, but is inkable and has slightly better stats. Decent card that I think could see play in an Amethyst/Steel deck.

The last two cards are pack filler, in my opinion. Hold Still is the most amount of healing we've seen from one card, but it just doesn't do enough to be worth running. Last Cannon is basically the item version of He's Got a Sword! from set one and that card never saw play. Having to pay 2 ink and a card for a Strength buff is almost never going to be worth it.
