Card Evaluation

Belle's House - Maurice's Workshop is now the second location we have seen with no lore. So the only reason you are playing this is for the effect. So is that effect worth it? I don't think so. It's going to cost you 3 ink to enable it (1 to play the location and 2 to move a character there), so you would need to play three items to just break even. And while you are trying to do that, your opponent can easily remove either the location or the character(s) there. It just seems like too much effort for too little payoff.

Bernard is an interesting effect that we have not seen before. Most of the readying effects we have now happen immediately but come with some caveat (like not being able to quest). This one, however, triggers at the end of your turn. So it's a way to protect an important character that you don't want to be challenged. The trouble is hard removal is very prevalent in the meta, so just readying a character isn't going to always keep it safe. So it's a relatively low-impact effect on a low-impact body. Sorry, Bernard.
