Rise of the Floodborn Card Reveals: Shere Khan and Flynn Rider

Ravensburger has published a couple of blog posts recently revealing two new cards from Rise of the Floodborn on the official Disney Lorcana website. We have our first appearance of a character from Jungle Book in Shere Khan and a new, Floodborn Flynn Rider.

Two intriguing cards to evaluate here. Shere Khan is surprisingly cheap for a character that can let you gain a lot of lore quickly. As the post from game designer Steve Warner mentions, he pairs well with Rush characters, giving you that instant lore value when they challenge as soon as they come down. Or maybe you just run a deck that has a lot of cheaper characters which you flood onto the board and then challenge with them all in one turn for a big burst of lore.

Flynn Rider, meanwhile, has the most lore we've seen on a card that only costs 4 ink, but of course his ability offsets that. Getting him down as early as turn 2 is great, but he's often going to be questing for zero until at least a turn or two later. That is unless you can force your opponent to discard lots of cards in one go... with Belle - Hidden Archer perhaps? Or maybe you run this Flynn in a deck with the new Emerald Queen and discard him for 4 lore? It will be an interesting deckbuilding and gameplay challenge to get the most out of this new Floodborn Flynn.
